Hi! I’m Ashrita (she/her). 🌻
Econometrician by training, social scientist by disposition, storyteller by choice.
Having worked in the audio journalism space for four years, I've produced podcasts spanning themes of history, development, gender and climate, and am now venturing into making this my own.
In my sound practice, I place heavy emphasis on field audio – collected sound, drawing from hyperlocal soundscapes and archival tape. It plays an equal character in the film I’m weaving for the ear. I believe that storytelling situated in the field is the only empowering way to tell a story.
